Rabbi Elkins is the author of Unconventional Wisdom: Torah Perspectives on the Child Who Has Difficulty Learning (Targum, 1997) which provides original sources in Chazal as well as discussions with contemporary Gedolim on the issues concerning our responsibilities and obligations to educate those with learning difficulties.  He is also the author of The Lashon HaKodesh Screen (2006), a tool for screening grade, school or community-wide to detect learning issues at early stages, to facilitate early intervention.
